The Groupama Race was launched in 2008 at the initiative of Groupama Gan Pacifique and the "Cercle Nautique Calédonien". Since then, it has taken place every 2 years with more and more participants. This book is a testimony of this 5th edition. It is dedicated to Caledonian and international sailors who have embarked on the adventure of traveling non-stop the 654 nautical miles around the most beautiful lagoon in the world. A difficult challenge taken up in 2016 by 19 crews, some from Polynesia, Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong. For the first time, the race was open to multihulls with no size restriction.
The Groupama Race also offers photographers a unique opportunity to sublimate their work: an immense lagoon, punctuated by majestic sails that are competing. Unique moments, immortalized in a limited edition book of 200 copies.
